10-Day Fast Launching

Join us as we kick off a church-wide 10-day fast Monday, July 28! These periods of prayer and fasting are always powerful time to refocus and reconnect with God. Very timely as we gear up for the fall season! We encourage all leaders to prayerfully consider how you want to participate. We will also be hosting two church-wide events during this fasting period:

1) Prayer/Worship Night – Aug. 1st, 7 pm, Midtown campus
2) Hillsong London concert – Aug. 6th, 7 pm, Midtown campus (fast concludes after the concert)

Calling all potential leaders!

Calling all potential leaders! The next Careforce Facilitator Training will kick off on Saturday, July 19th at the Midtown campus. This is a 10-week program designed to equip individuals to lead a serving team, group or ministry at Celebration Church. For more information or to sign up, contact Patrice Brier.

ONE Prayer Outreach Weekend - June 28-29, 2008

Rally up your group or team members for ONE Prayer Reach Weekend! All campuses will be joining together to participate in three church-wide outreaches the weekend of June 28-29.

Make sure to sign up this weekend! Drop off a ONE Prayer outreach card(s) for you and your group/team at your campus Info or Resource Center. Check out the activities below:

Builders Care – Saturday, June 28 – 8 am – noon
Come be part of the team providing repair and construction services to homes for the elderly and low-income families. Builders Care is a nonprofit organization serving to reduce substandard housing in Northeast Florida through services including painting, remodeling roofs/walls, increasing handicap accessibility and providing other general repairs. Wear comfortable clothes/shoes and bring a sack lunch.

Springfield Clean up – Saturday, June 28, 9 am – noon; Sunday, June 29, 2- 5 pm
Located in North Jacksonville, Springfield is one of the oldest areas of the city with a history of poverty and crime. We will be partnering with the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council (SPAR) to beautify the community before their annual Heritage Festival. Activities include trash clean up, planting flowers and painting.

Jax Beach Homeless Outreach – Sunday, June 29, 4-7 pm
Join our weekly outreach team in providing food, clothing and prayer with the homeless of Jacksonville Beach. Share the love of Jesus with those in need in the Jax Beach community.

ONE Prayer kicking off in June!

Celebration is excited to join with nearly 1000 other local churches to take part in a special campaign called ONE Prayer during the month of June. Pastors from all over the United States and the world have been asked to answer this question, “If God would answer one prayer for the church at large, what would you pray?” As we bring our prayers to God during the weeks in June, our hope is that we will more fully grasp the breadth and strength of the body of Christ and her potential for significant impact across the earth.

Here’s how Celebration will be involved:

• Participate in the ONE Prayer series at the same time with other churches on the same dates: June 7-June 29, 2008
• Opportunity to hear from world class speakers and leaders who have also rallied their churches to participate in ONE Prayer campaign
• ONE Prayer Kids curriculums to be taught at Celebration Kids across the church
• Take up a special offering for global missions, which will be used to support four international organizations in planting 500 new churches in Cambodia, India, Sudan, and China!
• Impact the community through a series of local outreaches the weekend of June 28/29th
• Serving Leaders: Will have an opportunity to help host special serving EXPOs conveniently adjacent to weekend and Wednesday night services to make it easy to learn more about serving opportunities and how to get involved
• Group Leaders: Will have an opportunity to facilitate special groups lessons for message-based groups to help bring ONE Prayer into your week

Book Study: Acts

Beginning June 18th (Wednesday), our midweek service will be going through the book of Acts verse-by-verse. Acts has a wealth of information about the success of the early church and apostles. A perfect book for you to learn from as a leader at Celebration Church in the “classroom style” format of the Wednesday night service.
